FAQ

ABOUT ETIS

The government of French Polynesia requires the production of a health form for all travellers entering French Polynesia by air. This formality is in addition to the existing entry requirements for foreigners on the Polynesian territory. This formality is in force since July 12, 2020 (Order n° 525 CM of May 13, 2020 modified concerning entry measures and sanitary surveillance of arrivals in French Polynesia in the framework of the fight against covid-19) for an indefinite period.

The health form is only available on the website www.etis.pf.  It is compulsory for all resident and non-resident travellers, and must be presented at check-in to the airline for boarding to Polynesia.

We remind you that your application for entry into Polynesia will only be completed upon receipt of either your approved ETIS receipt or your conditional ETIS receipt (subject to validation of your compelling reason).

You can access the ETIS website by typing in the search tab: www.etis.pf or by visiting the institutional websites of the country, the State, Tahiti Tourisme, as well as those of the airlines (Air Tahiti Nui, French Bee, Air France, United Airlines). More widely, you can contact travel agencies.

The health form is only available on the website www.etis.pf. Just click on "Travel to French Polynesia" and follow the instructions.

ETIS is a compulsory health declaration of commitment and does not replace the regular entry formalities for foreigners in French Polynesia. This formality is in addition to the existing entry requirements for foreigners on the Polynesian territory.

All travellers; residents and non-residents; and their minor family members are subject to this reporting obligation. One form per adult is required.

This formality is compulsory for any person who has stayed outside French Polynesia, even for a short stay, and wishes to enter Polynesian territory by air.

Your ETIS application must be made at least 30 days prior to your flight to French Polynesia and each time you enter Polynesian territory.

Please note that you must delete your old valid application by clicking on "Manage my file" in order to fill in a new form.

The procedure lasts only as long as the form is filled in. The platform generates an approved ETIS receipt which you receive by email immediately after validating the payment of the health monitoring fees.

Any person aged at least 6 years arriving by air from a region outside French Polynesia, is required to pay a fixed contribution to the cost of health surveillance in the amount of 12 000 F CFP.

Persons who have been vaccinated according to a complete vaccination schedule as well as minors aged 6 to 11 years old inclusive accompanying their parent(s) or legal representative whose vaccination schedule is complete, are required to pay a fixed contribution to the health surveillance costs of 5 000 F CFP.

Once the ETIS form has been submitted, you must connect to your ETIS file by clicking on "Manage my file" in order to pay your contribution to the health surveillance fees. When the payment is validated, you will receive your approved ETIS receipt by email.

In accordance with decree n° 2189/CM of September 29,2021, modifying decree n° 525/CM of May 20, 2020, the refund of the fixed contribution to the health surveillance fees is possible in case of cancellation of the trip or postponement of the trip for more than three months after the issuance of the registration certificate on the ETIS platform (approved ETIS receipt).

For any refund request, please formalize a refund request at remboursement@etis.pf or by mail (tourism department BP 4527- 98713 Papeete TAHITI French Polynesia).

Please attach the receipted invoice (to be downloaded from the "manage my file" tab), proof of cancellation or postponement of the trip (e.g. cancellation or postponement of the plane ticket) and a bank account statement (IBAN) of the account on which the refund will be made.

Please note: You must not delete your file on the ETIS platform before you have received your refund.

If your child is a minor (-18 years old), you must register as the declarant and fill in the information relating to your child by clicking on "Add a child".

If your minor child is traveling alone in UM (Unaccompanied Minor), please identify yourself as the registrant and fill in your child's information second. Indicate that you are not traveling with your child and the receipt will be issued in his name. To do this, check the box "I proceed to the declaration of a child traveling as an UM (Unaccompanied Minor)".

A health form must be completed for an adult child. One form per adult is required.

Yes, all travelers of any nationality (residents and non-residents) are required to complete the ETIS form before arriving in French Polynesia.

Choose one of the two passports for your declaration.

This means that an ETIS application is already registered with your passport number. You must delete your old ETIS request by clicking on the "Manage my file" tab in order to complete a new form.

As a reminder, your ETIS request must be made between 30 and 6 days before your flight to French Polynesia and each time you enter Polynesia.

If you encounter more difficulties, send an email to the website support contact at: contact@etis.pf.

RECEIPT AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

The platform generates an ETIS receipt pending payment that you receive by email immediately after completing all the required information during your ETIS request.
You must then log in to your ETIS folder by clicking on "Manage my file" to pay for your health surveillance fee. When the payment is validated, you will receive your approved ETIS receipt by email. In the event that you have made a compelling reason request, you will receive a conditional ETIS receipt (subject to validation of your compelling reason request).

Yes, your receipt can be requested at any time during your stay. You will have to present a printed copy upon arrival at your destination.

Please check in your spam/junk mail or other folders in your mailbox. The email may have been filed, as the . pf email address is uncommon.
Otherwise, go to the "Manage my file" tab and enter your passport/ETIS number and date of birth. You will then have access to your ETIS file and can return your receipt.

If the platform does not find your file, it means that your ETIS request has not been taken into account and you must proceed with a new request.

You can access your child’s file by clicking on the "Manage my file" tab and fill in the passport/ETIS number and date of birth of the declarant.

Travel insurance is necessary for any person travelling to French Polynesia, who is not a French national and not affiliated to the French social security system with which Polynesia has agreements. Otherwise, you commit yourself to assume the health expenses incurred in French Polynesia including in case of infection with COVID-19. The ETIS form is proof of this.

FILL OUT YOUR APPLICATION

You cannot save a partially completed form to finish it later. Once you close the etis.pf page, your data will be deleted and you will have to start the process again.

The ETIS website will allow travellers to review and correct all of their data prior to submitting their application through the "Data Verification" step.
If the traveller has made a mistake in their personal information or commitments once the request has been validated, they must delete their ETIS file and fill out a new form. To do this, click on the "Manage my file" tab, enter your passport/ETIS number and date of birth and select: delete my ETIS application.

Please note, if the traveller has already paid his share of the health surveillance fee, he should contact the ETIS support team at contact@etis.pf.

If your travel date and/or itinerary change between the time you apply and your departure, you can change them using the "Manage my file" tab. Don’t forget to have your ETIS receipt returned to update your arrival date on your document.

If your personal data changes between the time you made your request and your departure, you must cancel your previous request and initiate a new request.
To do this, go to the "Manage my file" tab, fill in the passport number and date of birth and select delete my ETIS application.

Please note, if you have already paid for your participation in the cost of sanitary surveillance, you must contact the ETIS support team at contact@etis.pf.

The ETIS form is valid only for your current stay in Polynesia. Your ETIS data is destroyed 90 days after your departure from French Polynesia.

You will have to redo an ETIS request each time you travel to French Polynesia and delete the old request first by clicking on the "Manage my file" tab.

Please note that only changes of travel dates, itinerary and contact are possible. Otherwise, the application must be deleted and a new form completed.

If you have already paid for your participation in the cost of sanitary surveillance, you must contact the ETIS support team at contact@etis.pf.

To do this, go to the section "Manage my file", fill in the passport number/ETIS and the date of birth of the declarant.

If you received an ETIS receipt by email, your ETIS file is well saved. Please check your SPAM/junk mail or other folders in your mailbox. The email may have been filed there, as the .pf email address is uncommon.

Otherwise, go to the "Manage my file" tab and enter your passport/ETIS number and date of birth. You will then have access to your ETIS file and can return your receipt.
